If you plan a fun activity in Utah, UTV Rentals makes these trails the top choice of every off-road guru. I love to explore Central Utah Trails because there you can find everything you need for a weekend getaway with your off-road friends. The trails are 1500 miles long, so you can find sandy desert trails and alpine mountain trails for every UTV fan.
We’ve been exploring the Paiute Trail system for several years and have covered a lot of ground, but I feel like we’ve only scratched the surface of what it has to offer. The area’s diversity continues to surprise me. On this particular day, we traveled 60 miles and experienced a variety of terrains, from hot, arid deserts to cool mountain forests. It’s truly a spectacular place.
Also there you can go camping, skiing, fishing, and rafting in the breathtaking nature. Trails are located next to Fishlake National Forest and Bryce Canyon National Park. This trail is located in Central Utah, 1 hour and 30 minutes from Ephraim, and the closest town is Marysvale.
The best time to visit
These trails are open for everyone and every time. The season there is from May to October. In the early spring days, you can find snow and icy terrains so the trails might be too dangerous to ride UTV. In the late summer months, the weather could change rapidly so there can be thunderstorms and heavy rain.

Trails to visit
Bullion Caynon
If you are a fan of forrest rides this trail is perfect for you. Rocky and hard dirt trails with the most beautiful views. Also there you can find the Bullion Fall, the magnificent 75-foot waterfall in Utah that flows year-round. This spot has a mile hike to get to the falls. The difficulty of this trail is moderate because of the heights.
Max Reid Trail
The Max Reid Trailhead is located about 24 miles from Richfield, Utah. To get there from Richfield, start at the junction of 300 N and Main Street. Head south on Main Street for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto 1300 S and continue west for about 1.1 miles. Turn left onto I-70 southbound and drive for roughly 20 miles. Take exit 17, then turn right onto Kimberly Road and continue for approximately 0.3 miles. Turn right onto Clear Creek Canyon Road and follow it for about 1 mile. Finally, turn right onto FR475, pass under the freeway, and you’ll reach the trailhead.
Deer Creek
This trail is a full-size trail with approximately 7 miles. The trails are more difficult because of the down and uphill terrain. The Deer Creek Trail is a fantastic trail that you can access from two locations: just off the west side of Highway 89 between Big Rock Candy Mountain and Marysvale, Utah, or from the Paiute Trail near the Deer Creek Guard Station.
Barney Lake
If you are starting your tours at Trail 1, Barney Lake is under a mile. This trail is open from July to October. Also there you can find a great camping spot near Barney Lake. This trail is very enjoyable, offering some fun challenges with its steep and rocky terrain. It is only open to 50″ machines. Upon reaching Barney Lake, you’ll ascend to over 10,000 feet to Monroe Peak, where you can enjoy incredible panoramic views.
Manning Meadow Reservoir
To go there you should drive on second and switch on trail number one. The tour is 32 miles long one way. So you will see the sandy desert pictures of views to deep forest trails. The spot is perfect for a picnic and camping near the lake. It’s a long tour so you will find moderate and easy trails.
Anderson Dairy
This is a 50″ wide trail with a rating of “most difficult.” It offers a very scenic experience, winding through beautiful pine and aspen groves, and showcasing vibrant wildflowers in the spring. The trail features steep and rocky climbs that demand attention, adding to the adventure and challenge of the route.
Tushar Mountains
The Paiute Trail system spans much of the Tushar Mountains, attracting numerous Side-by-side and ATV riders who enjoy these scenic trails.
Some trails offer open and exposed paths with sweeping panoramic views, while others wind through shady forest canopies where you might hear birds singing or spot an elk herd grazing in the fields below.
Monroe Mountains
What we love most about Trail 89 is its diversity. You start in open plains, move through tight, technical woods, and then ride through areas that have been burned by past fires. This trail has a little bit of everything.
Although the trail starts in a seemingly uneventful way, don’t be misled. Trail 89 truly exemplifies what the Paiute Trail is all about—diverse terrain, beautiful sights, and a mix of rocky, smooth, and wooded sections. This trail is a must-ride for anyone visiting the Paiute Trail.

Be Prepared
Before you go on any trails please be prepared for any weather changes you might have in the trails. Dressing with long-sleeved clothes is the smart choice for you and also add more layers of clothing. Even in summer, nights can get cool if you’re camping, so be prepared.
It’s essential to bring plenty of food and water—more than you think you’ll need. This applies to fuel as well. Always plan for the worst-case scenario, such as being stranded in the backcountry longer than anticipated.
While lightweight clothes and open-toed shoes might be tempting in warm weather, it’s important to understand the necessity of protective gear. You’re traveling through rugged terrain where accidents can happen. Proper attire, including boots, a helmet, and UTV-specific clothing, can significantly reduce the risk of injury.
